Implementation

This module contains important contextual information that states can use to develop a realistic implementation strategy, as well as a checklist to support the strategy. The content in this section helps jurisdictions determine what components of the Framework are most relevant to their jurisdiction, and whether components should be pursued individually or whether the packaging of two or more components is appropriate. It includes materials to help states identify current practices that would have to be modified as part of implementation, training needs, and costs of implementation.

The purpose of this checklist is to help jurisdictions assess their current young driver program practices in terms of the GDL Framework features. This checklist assesses practices and policies in relation to three main areas: features, data needs and implementation plans. More specifically, this tool helps states identify which Framework features have the most potential for implementation, what data are required to demonstrate the need for the feature, and the key steps to develop an implementation plan.
